The proposed concept of a wastewater refinery combines\nwastewater treatment with advanced resource recovery [1]. In this concept, wastewater\nmanagement is no longer mainly focused on achieving environmentally clean or\n\u201cfit for purpose\u201d treated wastewater, but instead aims to also generate\nvalue-added products.
